Mutsvangwa Backs Mnangagwa’s Leadership as ZANU PF Prepares for Annual Conference
ZANU PF’s Secretary for Information and Publicity, Christopher Mutsvangwa, has come out in strong support of President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s leadership, insisting the ruling party remains rooted in democratic principles as it readies for its upcoming Annual People’s Conference.
Addressing journalists at the party’s headquarters in Harare, Mutsvangwa highlighted ZANU PF’s commitment to inclusive dialogue and national development, urging members from across the country to participate freely in the conference discussions—especially regarding progress toward Zimbabwe’s Vision 2030 targets.
“ZANU PF is built on democratic values. Our party constitution reflects the will of the people, and everyone is welcome to contribute their perspectives at the conference,” said Mutsvangwa.
He pointed to economic gains under Mnangagwa’s administration as a testament to effective leadership, claiming that critics have deliberately ignored the strides made in modernizing Zimbabwe’s economy.
“President Mnangagwa is leading the country through a successful phase of development. Despite some voices refusing to recognize it, the ongoing transformation of the economy provides a strong basis for ZANU PF’s continued mandate,” Mutsvangwa added.
The briefing comes as public and political scrutiny intensifies around the implementation of Vision 2030—a national strategy aiming to achieve upper-middle-income status through investment in infrastructure, industrialisation, and youth empowerment.
Mutsvangwa also dismissed criticisms aimed at the party, stating that ZANU PF remains the only political force with a realistic path to national progress.
