Operation CBD Order Restoration Kicks Off in Harare
The City of Harare has today launched Operation CBD Order Restoration, a citywide enforcement initiative aimed at bringing order and compliance to the central business district.
As part of the operation, municipal officials visited several shops and commercial buildings in the CBD, inspecting for compliance with city by-laws. Businesses found operating outside legal requirements were issued warnings, with some facing immediate action.
In a statement, the City of Harare urged all business and property owners within the CBD to immediately regularise their operations in accordance with municipal regulations to avoid disruptions or possible closure.
“We are calling on all residents, business operators, and property owners to ensure their premises meet the standards set out in the City of Harare By-Laws. This includes licensing, health standards, and structural compliance,” said the Council.
The operation is expected to continue throughout the week, with the city reiterating its commitment to restoring order, improving service delivery, and creating a clean, safe, and well-regulated environment for all.
