Voters in Epworth Ward 6 and Chinhoyi Municipality’s Ward 14 are turning out peacefully today to cast their ballots in by-elections prompted by recent council seat vacancies.

In Epworth Ward 6, which has a total of 14,264 registered voters, the contest features Civilised Bushe representing the ruling ZANU-PF, Alice Nyahunzvi of the MDC-T, and independent candidate Peter Nyapetwa.

Meanwhile, in Ward 14 of Chinhoyi Municipality, where 2,339 voters are registered, the race is between Solomon Bizwork of ZANU-PF and independent contender Hope Zimbiri.

These by-elections come after the previous councillors, Nobody Makoni of Epworth Ward 6 and Chipo Mhlotswa of Chinhoyi’s Ward 14, were removed from office following criminal convictions.
