President Mnangagwa to Launch New Tourism Policy in Harare
President Emmerson Mnangagwa is set to officially unveil the Tourism and Hospitality Industry Policy (2025–2030) in Harare this Monday.
The five-year blueprint is part of the government’s broader plan to boost economic growth, positioning tourism as a critical driver in achieving the vision of an upper-middle-income economy by 2030, as outlined in the National Development Strategy.
The launch is expected to draw key players from the tourism sector, including representatives from the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA), the Zimbabwe Council for Tourism, safari operators, and other industry stakeholders.
The policy aims to serve as a strategic framework for developing a sustainable tourism sector. It outlines plans to improve the overall visitor experience while promoting infrastructure upgrades, effective marketing, environmental stewardship, and greater community participation in tourism-related activities.
Among its main goals are fostering inclusive growth, generating employment, and boosting foreign currency earnings through increased tourism revenue.
