Presidential Initiative Boosts Matabeleland North Youths
Young entrepreneurs in Matabeleland North have received a boost for their business ventures through a Presidential Empowerment Scheme, which recently delivered three trucks to support provincial youth enterprises.
The initiative, championed by the ruling ZANU PF party, is part of ongoing efforts to expand economic opportunities in the province. The handover ceremony this week saw excited beneficiaries taking possession of the vehicles, which are expected to enhance their transport and logistics operations.
Matabeleland North youth chairperson, Cde Lundy Sinzeka, said the trucks would be used for the collective benefit of the province.
“We formed a company to provide trucking services for the province, not for personal gain. We will operate in line with the President’s vision of empowerment,” he said.
ZANU-PF provincial chairperson, Cde Richard Moyo, credited President Mnangagwa for making the project possible.
“These trucks were purchased by the President himself. When we say he must continue leading us, it is because of such tangible results. Who else can deliver like this?” he remarked.
The government and ZANU PF have continued rolling out empowerment programmes targeting youths, women, war veterans, and other groups, guided by the “leaving no one and no place behind” policy.
