Limpopo Police Investigate Double Murder of Zimbabwean Men
Authorities in Limpopo have launched an intensive search for suspects following the fatal shooting of two Zimbabwean men in Ha-Rangani Village, located in the Masisi policing precinct of the Vhembe District. The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday, August 17.
According to police reports, officers were alerted to the crime at approximately 7:30 a.m. Upon arrival at the scene, they discovered the lifeless bodies of two men who had both suffered multiple gunshot wounds.
“One of the victims was found in the driver’s seat of a vehicle, while the other was located nearby,” confirmed the South African Police Service (SAPS) in an official statement.
The deceased, aged 30 and 28, were originally from Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. One had been residing in Musina Location, and the other in Ha-Rangani Village.
Investigators recovered live rounds, spent bullet casings, and a cellphone belonging to one of the victims at the scene.
Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, Limpopo’s provincial police commissioner, assured the public that all necessary resources were being deployed to track down those responsible.
“A full-scale operation is underway to apprehend the suspects,” Hadebe stated.
The case, which involves two counts of murder, is currently under investigation by the Provincial Organised Crime Unit following its registration at Masisi Police Station.
