DJ Towers Gets New SUV, US$50K From Chivayo

 Businessman and well-known ZANU PF supporter Wicknell Chivayo has made headlines once again after gifting local entertainer Tawanda Timothy Marimbe, popularly known as DJ Towers, a brand-new 2025 Toyota Fortuner 4×4 and US$50,000 in cash.

The announcement was made by Chivayo himself on social media, where he praised DJ Towers for what he described as “unapologetic loyalty” to the ruling ZANU PF party and President Emmerson Mnangagwa. Chivayo said the gesture was a reward for Marimbe’s consistent and public support of the party, which he claimed had gone largely unrecognized.

“Today, I wish to reward Mr Tawanda Timothy Marimbe aka DJ Towers for a different and unique kind of patriotism and loyalty,” Chivayo posted. “Please go and see Victor at Exquisite Car Dealership. Your brand spanking new 2025 Toyota Fortuner 4×4 2.8 GD6 is fully paid for and ready for collection.”

In addition to the luxury SUV, DJ Towers will also receive US$50,000 in cash, which Chivayo referred to as “pocket money.”

Chivayo’s social media statement emphasized loyalty to ZANU PF as the reason behind the lavish gift, calling Marimbe “brave” for continuing to publicly express support for the party despite criticism and ridicule.

The businessman, known for his controversial presence online and his history of extravagant gifting to high-profile individuals and public personalities, described DJ Towers as someone who had turned “ridicule into relevance.”

Neither DJ Towers nor representatives from Exquisite Car Dealership could be reached for immediate comment.

Chivayo’s public endorsement and reward for political loyalty come at a time when political patronage and displays of allegiance continue to stir debate in Zimbabwe’s socio-political landscape.
