Prevail International Group of Companies has sped up the government’s efforts to spur rural industrialisation with a USD 1 million investment in a state-of-the-art stone crushing plant, promising to boost local economic growth and create new job opportunities.

Industry and Commerce Ministry, in a statement, said that the project commenced in 2024 with test runs currently underway.

The Ministry echoed that the investment is changing our rural economies both upstream and downstream.

“Prevail International has invested USD 1 million in a modern stone crushing plant in Murambinda, Buhera District, Manicaland Province. “With a 120 megatonnes per hour capacity, the plant will support power construction, road building, and related industries.

“Many downstream entities will benefit from this investment,” reads the statement. The quarry is located less than 2 kilometres from Murambinda Growth Point and is expected to boost local infrastructure development and industrial growth.

The project will create jobs, and retailers and wholesalers of various commodities will see an increase in business due to the new activity.
The Ministry said beyond just quarrying, the company plans to manufacture cement bricks and drain pipes using quarry dust, which will add value, create more jobs, and support the construction sector.

“Currently, the plant awaits commissioning, and 34 workers are already employed, with more jobs expected after full launch.
“This investment strengthens rural industrialisation, import substitution and employment creation, which are key pillars for growing Manicaland and Zimbabwe’s economy.”
