Simba Bhora wrote their name into the history books after clinching a 1-0 win over Eswatini’s Nsingizini Hotspurs in their first-ever CAF Champions League outing. The preliminary round first leg was played at the Obed Itani Chilume Stadium in Francistown, Botswana.

The breakthrough arrived in the 57th minute when defender Ishmael Nyanhi, known for his composure at the back, netted the decisive goal. Forced to host their “home” tie outside Zimbabwe because of the ongoing stadium crisis, the Shamva-based club showcased resilience, tactical discipline, and maturity to secure both the victory and a clean sheet.

Attention now shifts to the return leg in Eswatini, where Simba Bhora will fight to protect their slender advantage. Regardless of what comes next, this opening triumph already stands as a milestone, underlining that Zimbabwean football still has the potential to make an impact on the continental stage.
