Harry Kane Breaks Record with 100th Goal for Bayern Munich
Harry Kane cemented his status among football’s elite on Friday night after becoming the fastest player since 1992 to reach 100 goals for a single club in Europe’s top five leagues.
The England captain hit the milestone in record time, scoring twice in Bayern Munich’s 4-0 victory over Werder Bremen to bring his tally to 100 goals in just 104 appearances. In doing so, Kane edged past Erling Haaland and Cristiano Ronaldo, who both reached the mark in 105 games.
The 32-year-old striker opened his account on the stroke of half-time, winning and converting a penalty to double Bayern’s lead after Jonathan Tah’s opener. He then added a second midway through the second half with a close-range finish, before Konrad Laimer sealed the win late on.
Kane’s exploits continue a remarkable chapter in his career. Since his £100 million switch from Tottenham Hotspur in 2023, he has not only ended his personal trophy drought with last season’s Bundesliga title, but also set multiple goalscoring records in Germany.
Friday’s brace underlined his consistency and impact, with his 100-goal landmark arriving in quicker time than some of the modern era’s most celebrated forwards.
For Bayern, the result maintained their unbeaten start to the campaign, while for Kane, it was yet another reminder that his move to Munich has firmly established him as one of the game’s most prolific strikers.
