Epworth Students Celebrate as CEO Weston Ruzvidzo Pledges Full School Fees

Grapnote Steel Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Weston Ruzvidzo, has pledged to pay full school fees for seven students at Mabvazuva Secondary School for the 2026 academic year.

The announcement was made during the electrification handover ceremony at Mabvazuva Secondary, presided over by Epworth North Constituency Member of Parliament, Hon. Zivai Mhetu.

Mr. Ruzvidzo expressed his appreciation for the students’ dedication, noting that they actively participated in creating trenches that made it possible to connect electricity to the school.

“All the students who helped Hon. Mhetu’s team to dig trenches for electricity have been rewarded with school fees for the whole of 2026.

“Hard work pays, and they deserve recognition for the role they played in transforming their school,” said Mr. Ruzvidzo.

The Grapnote Steel CEO emphasized the importance of instilling values of commitment and diligence in young people, adding that rewarding effort not only motivates students but also shapes future leaders.

The gesture was warmly received by the school community, with teachers, parents, and learners applauding the initiative as a model of corporate social responsibility.

Mabvazuva Secondary School Head Girl, Sympathy Maisiri, praised Mr. Ruzvidzo’s contribution, describing it as a “life-changing opportunity” for the beneficiaries.

The collaboration between Hon. Mhetu, who spearheaded the electrification project using Constituency Development Funds (CDF), and private partners like Grapnote Steel, reflects a shared vision for sustainable development in Epworth.

The event concluded with celebrations from students, who for the first time experienced the joy of having electricity at their school and the added blessing of educational support for their peers.

This initiative is expected to inspire further investment in education and infrastructure development in Epworth North Constituency.
