Hon. Mhetu Brings Power to Mabvazuva Secondary After 18 Years Without Electricity
Epworth North Constituency Member of Parliament, Hon. Zivai Mhetu, officially handed over electrification to Mabvazuva Secondary School today.
Speaking at the handover ceremony, Hon. Mhetu emphasized the importance of electricity to the school, noting that it had gone 18 years without power.
“The children are the future leaders of the country. We must do everything for them and make sure that they have better standards at school.
“Last year I requested quotations for three secondary schools, including Mabvazuva, Chinamano, and Muguta. For Mabvazuva it was USD 17,000, USD 60,000 for Chinamano, and USD 75,000 for Muguta. I decided to start with Mabvazuva using the CDF funds,” Hon Mhetu said.
Mabvazuva Secondary School Head Girl, Sympathy Maisiri, expressed her gratitude for the electrification at the school.
“Ever since the institution was established, we operated without electricity, but today we stand in light, celebrating power at our school.
“Honourable, we appreciate and we are grateful. You have not just uplifted infrastructure, but you have also lifted individuals and inspired hope for the future leaders,” she stated.
Hon. Mhetu also revealed plans for Epworth North Constituency, which include improving water systems, constructing roads, and enhancing living conditions in Epworth.
