Ngundu Man Dies After Gulping Two Litres of Sex Potion (Guchu)

Masvingo Police Deputy Spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Masauso Patinyu, confirmed that Knowledge Chikafu (48) of Mutsimba Village under Headman Gororo in Chivi, drank the concoction on Sunday around 2 pm and began vomiting.

He was rushed to a local clinic, transferred to Chivi District Hospital, and later taken to Masvingo Provincial Hospital, where he died on Wednesday.

The police have since arrested Juliet Majoni (71) of Chikamure Village, under Headman Madzivire in Chivi, who allegedly sold the concoction to Chikafu.

Circumstances are that Chikafu bought a two-litre bottle of the concoction from Majoni at Ngundu bus terminus around 2 pm. He drank it on his way home and began vomiting. His brother Peter Chikafu rushed him to Gororo Clinic around 4:30 pm as his condition deteriorated.

Chikafu was referred to Chivi District Hospital the same day. His condition worsened the following day, and he was transferred to Masvingo Provincial Hospital, where he died on Wednesday around 9 pm. A postmortem is yet to be conducted.

Police have since arrested Majoni and recovered a bucket she allegedly used to mix her concoctions.

“As the police, we encourage citizens not to buy concoctions from unlicensed practitioners to avoid unnecessary loss of life,” said Patinyu.
