A man, Marvelous Chinyama (21) of Kadoma, has been convicted to 13 years and 6 months for a series of robbery and unlawful entry charges by the Kadoma Magistrates’ Court.

According to a statement issued by the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPA), Marvelous Chinyama was sentenced by the Kadoma Magistrates’ Court for robbery and unlawful entry charges.

“On an unknown period between April and July 2025, the offender committed a string of robberies and unlawful entries across Kadoma targeting private homes, schools, and individuals.

In several areas, he broke down doors to gain entry, while in others, he used threats of violence to rob victims of their property. Items stolen include cash, mobile phones, laptops, and household electronics,” said the NPA statement.

Marvelous was sentenced to 5 years imprisonment on the first robbery count with 3 years suspended for 5 years on condition of good behaviour, 2 years on second account with 6 months suspended and further effective sentences on robbery and unlawful entry charges ranging from 6 months to 4 years.

Counts 10,11, and 12 were treated as one for sentencing purposes, attracting an additional 18 months. The offender will serve an effective prison term of 13 years and 6 months.

“Communities should continue reporting suspicious activities promptly so that law enforcement can act before more lives are affected,” urged the NPA.
