Tocky Vibes Album Launch Flops Despite Star Line-Up
Zimdancehall musician Tocky Vibes’ latest album launch turned into a disappointment after only a few fans attended, despite featuring top artists like Killer T and Tamy Moyo.
The show, expected to be a major event, was overshadowed by other big occasions such as the Jacaranda Music Festival and the Chibuku Road to Fame finals, which drew huge crowds. Some fans and music experts blamed poor promotion and bad timing, while others said Tocky’s music style has become too repetitive.
“He’s no longer in touch with the streets. People want something new,” one fan commented online.
However, loyal supporters defended him, saying Tocky remains a Zimdancehall legend who has inspired many.
“Tocky gave us songs that raised a generation. This was just a bad weekend —he will rise again,” another fan said.
After the flop, Tocky Vibes took to social media to express his pain, writing in Shona that it hurt to see some of his close people celebrating his failure.
Despite the setback, many believe the artist can bounce back if he refreshes his sound and reconnects with his audience.
