Hwange R@pist Caught in the Act, Sentenced to 15 Years
A Hwange man (63) has been sentenced to 15 years in jail by the Hwange Magistrates’ Court for r@ping a 12-year-old grade six pupil.
According to the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe, on 25 July 2025, at around 7 pm, in an area under Chief Nekatambe, the offender entered the bedroom of the victim and offered her money to have s@x with him.
“He then r@ped the 12-year-old girl. The man was disturbed after he heard the victim’s brother whistling outside. The brother caught them red-handed. The victim was questioned and subsequently revealed the entire incident to her mother,” said the NPA statement.
A report was made to the police, which led to the arrest of the offender.
“S@xual abuse of minors remains an issue of grave concern within the country. It called upon members of the community to report such cases promptly, Members of the community need to report such cases to get rid of pedophiles in our communities,” the NPA added.
