Musona Fired Up to Face Bafana Bafana at Moses Mabhida Stadium
Warriors forward Knowledge Musona will be one of the main attractions for South African football fans this Friday when Zimbabwe take on Bafana Bafana in a 2026 World Cup Qualifier at Moses Mabhida Stadium.
The match carries contrasting stakes — with South Africa chasing vital qualification points, while Zimbabwe aim to salvage pride and end their campaign on a high.
Musona, a familiar name in South African football circles due to his successful spell at Kaizer Chiefs, has become a focal point of pre-match discussions. The 34-year-old attacker said returning to South Africa brings back great memories and an extra dose of motivation.
“I once played here in South Africa, and during that time I performed well, so I’m looking forward to facing them again,” Musona said. “Playing here gives me a lot of motivation because many fans still remember me from my Kaizer Chiefs days. I want to relive that form on Friday.”
Musona enjoyed a prolific run with Amakhosi, earning the 2009–2010 Rookie of the Year title and claiming the Golden Boot the following season with 15 goals.
The former Warriors captain was even linked with a sensational return to Kaizer Chiefs in July before ultimately signing with Scottland FC, who tabled a late, more attractive offer.
