ZIMSEC Ready for 2025 Public Examinations
The Zimbabwe School Examinations Council (ZIMSEC) has confirmed its readiness for the upcoming public examinations, which are set to commence next week.
Ordinary Level candidates will kick off the session on Monday with Mathematics Paper 1 in the morning and English Paper 1 in the afternoon. Advanced Level students will also begin their assessments on the same day, starting with History Paper 1 and Agriculture Engineering Paper 1.
ZIMSEC spokesperson Ms. Nicky Dhlamini expressed confidence that all examination processes were firmly in place, assuring the public that the assessments would proceed smoothly and securely. She highlighted that the measures introduced to prevent examination paper leaks had continued to prove successful, with no incidents reported over the past two years.
“The integrity systems of examinations are reviewed annually to align with best practices and to enhance the security of assessments,” said Ms. Dhlamini. “We urge all stakeholders and the nation at large to support efforts in safeguarding the credibility of our examinations for the benefit of both current and future candidates.”
The examinations body has implemented a number of reforms to tighten security and strengthen transparency within the examination process. These include continuous system upgrades and routine reviews to detect and prevent potential breaches.
Practical examinations, which began on 15 September, have reportedly progressed without incident. ZIMSEC said it was pleased with the smooth start and remained optimistic that the same momentum would carry into the written papers scheduled for next week.
Ms. Dhlamini reiterated the council’s commitment to maintaining open communication with the public and ensuring that all assessments are conducted under fair and credible conditions.
