“This is not just a marathon. It is a movement — a celebration of health, wellness, community spirit, and the beauty of our land,” he said. “Honde Valley offers not just a course to run, but a landscape to experience; a place where nature and endurance unite in perfect harmony.”
The marathon, now a flagship event on the national sporting calendar, will run under the theme “One Spirit, One Nation, One NetOne”.
Eng. Mushanawani emphasized that the initiative aligns with the Government’s National Development Strategy 1 (NDS1), particularly the pillars that focus on health, well-being, and tourism.
“We believe that a healthy nation is a productive nation. Through events like this, we promote physical activity, mental wellness, and social cohesion all of which are vital to national growth,” he noted.
He added that the marathon also contributes to the growth of domestic tourism by showcasing the natural beauty and economic potential of Honde Valley one of Zimbabwe’s most scenic destinations.
“We invite visitors from all over Zimbabwe and beyond to discover this hidden gem the sunrise over the mountains, the laughter of the locals, the aroma of fresh coffee and bananas, and the rhythm of nature that inspires every stride,” he said.
The NetOne CEO extended appreciation to the event partners, sponsors, and the Honde Valley community for their continued support in growing the marathon into a premier national event.
“Your enthusiasm and dedication breathe life into this event. Together, we are building a tradition that celebrates resilience, unity, and the human spirit,” Eng. Mushanawani stated.
He urged runners to take pride in representing the NetOne brand, describing the race packs and colors as a symbol of connection, progress, and shared purpose.
“When we run under one banner, we do not just represent a brand we represent a vision of togetherness and transformation, ” he added.
Eng. Mushanawani concluded his address with an inspiring call for collective participation and purpose, reminding participants that each step in the marathon contributes to a broader cause a healthier and more connected Zimbabwe.
“Let’s lace up. Let’s breathe in the mountain air. Let’s run for health, happiness, and the love of this incredible land we call home,” he urged. When we run as one, we go further, faster, and stronger,” he said.
