SHUHI MINE PAYS COMPENSATION TO FAMILY OF SLAID FUNGIA NHAU

MUDZI — In a move aimed at supporting the bereaved family, Chinese-owned Shuhi Mine in Mudzi has paid US$6,500 following the tragic death of Fungai Nhau.

The mining company acted swiftly after the unfortunate incident, which occurred when shots were fired by mine employees, resulting in Nhau’s death. The payment is intended to assist the family with immediate financial needs and demonstrate the company’s commitment to the local community.

According to a statement , Shuhi Mine emphasized that the company is working closely with local authorities and community leaders to ensure safety, accountability, and improved relations between the mine and residents.

“Our hearts go out to the family of Fungai Nhau. We are committed to supporting them and preventing such incidents in the future,” said the statement.
