ZimDancehall musician Reginald Mano, popularly known by his stage name Ras Pompy, has been granted bail pending appeal by the High Court following his earlier conviction by the Magistrates’ Court.

The ruling came after Ras Pompy’s legal team, led by Advocate Dumisani Mthombeni, lodged an appeal challenging the lower court’s decision.

In granting the application, the High Court set several conditions for the artist’s temporary release. Ras Pompy is required to pay US$300 bail through the Clerk of Court at the Harare Magistrates Court.

He must also continue residing at his current address until the appeal process is completed and is directed to report once every Friday at Matapi Police Station between 6 AM and 6 PM.

Additionally, the court ordered that Ras Pompy surrender his passport to the Clerk of Court as part of his bail conditions.

The High Court’s decision gives the musician temporary relief as he awaits the outcome of his appeal.
