ASTON VILLA EYE ANSU FATI AMID MONACO RESURGENCE
Aston Villa are reportedly considering a move for Spanish winger Ansu Fati should he not complete a permanent transfer to AS Monaco at the end of the season.
According to reports from Spain, the Barcelona forward, currently on loan in Ligue 1, has caught the attention of the Premier League side following an impressive run of form in France.
Fati’s career has experienced a remarkable turnaround since joining AS Monaco on loan last summer. Once regarded as one of Europe’s brightest young talents, the 23 year old’s progress was derailed by a series of injuries that saw his form dip during difficult spells at Barcelona and Brighton & Hove Albion.
However, his time in Monaco has reignited his career. The Spanish international has rediscovered his sharpness and confidence, scoring six goals in ten appearances across all competitions. His resurgence has put him back on the radar of several European clubs, including those from the Premier League.
Aston Villa are believed to be among the teams monitoring Fati closely as they look to strengthen their attacking options ahead of next season. Unai Emery’s side have shown flashes of brilliance this campaign but have often relied heavily on Ollie Watkins for goals. The club is reportedly seeking to add more creativity and goal threat to its forward line.
Fati’s ability to operate across the front three and create scoring opportunities makes him an attractive option for Villa. However, they are likely to face competition for his signature, with Crystal Palace, Everton, Newcastle United, and even Sunderland said to be interested.
AS Monaco have an option to buy Fati permanently at the end of his loan spell, but it remains uncertain whether they will trigger it. Should he become available, Aston Villa could move quickly to bring the rejuvenated winger back to the Premier League.
Fati’s future will depend on Barcelona’s plans and Monaco’s decision, but one thing is clear, the young Spaniard’s revival has once again made him one of Europe’s most talked-about attacking prospects.
