Mangombe Set For Simba Bhora Move After Impressive Spell At Triangle

Triangle United coach Genesis “Kaka” Mangombe is on the verge of sealing a move to ambitious Premier Soccer League side Simba Bhora, with reports suggesting negotiations are at an advanced stage.

According to sources close to the developments, the deal is “virtually done,” with only a few contractual details left before the former Dynamos mentor officially puts pen to paper.

Mangombe, who took over at Triangle in April, has earned widespread praise for revitalising the Lowveld side despite their struggles in the league. Under his guidance, the Sugar Boys defied the odds to reach the Chibuku Super Cup final, a remarkable feat for a club still locked in a tense relegation battle.

While Triangle’s top-flight survival will be decided in the final two rounds of matches, Mangombe’s tactical acumen and calm leadership have not gone unnoticed. His ability to mould a competitive side from limited resources has made him one of the most sought after coaches in the local game.

At Simba Bhora, Mangombe is expected to replace Joel Lupahla, whose side came agonisingly close to clinching the 2025 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League title. The Shamva-based club led the race for much of the season but faltered in the decisive stages, allowing debutants Scottland FC to snatch the championship.

If confirmed, Mangombe’s appointment would underline Simba Bhora’s intent to regroup and mount another strong title challenge next season. The club’s management is reportedly eager to bring in a coach with proven experience in handling high-pressure environments and nurturing young talent, qualities that Mangombe has consistently demonstrated.

With Triangle still fighting for survival and the Chibuku Cup final on the horizon, the former Dynamos tactician will be eager to finish on a high before embarking on what could be one of the biggest challenges of his coaching career.
