Relegation Battle Takes Centre Stage As PSL Enters Penultimate Round

The spotlight will shift from the title race to the relegation fight this weekend as the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League (PSL) heads into its penultimate round of fixtures.

With the championship already wrapped up by Scotland FC on Matchday 32, after their emphatic 5–1 triumph over Kwekwe United, all eyes now turn to the other end of the table, where survival remains the only mission for several clubs.

Scotland’s victory took them to an unassailable 65 points, confirming their dominance this season. But while they will now be playing for pride, at least nine teams below the top eight are staring nervously at the drop zone, where the margin for error has completely vanished.

Kwekwe United have already been condemned to Division One football next season, leaving the rest to fight tooth and nail for safety in the remaining two rounds.

One of the teams with the toughest run-in is Yadah FC. The Miracle Boys face a brutal test of character in their last two fixtures, clashing with Dynamos this weekend at Ngoni Stadium before taking on Simba Bhora in their season finale. With both opponents also desperate for points for different reasons, Yadah’s survival hopes could rest on how they handle these high pressure encounters.

All nine Matchday 33 fixtures are scheduled for Saturday, 8 November 2025, with kick off set for 3 PM CAT across the country.

Matchday 33 Fixtures and Venues:

1. ZPC Kariba FC vs TelOne FC: Nyamhunga Stadium

2. FC Platinum vs Herentals College FC: Mandava Stadium

3. Yadah FC vs Dynamos FC: Ngoni Stadium

4. Bikita Minerals FC vs Simba Bhora FC: Sakubva Stadium

5. Highlanders FC vs Manica Diamonds FC: Barbourfields Stadium

6. Ngezi Platinum Stars FC vs Chicken Inn FC: Baobab Stadium

7. CAPS United FC vs MWOS FC: Rufaro Stadium

8. Triangle United FC vs Kwekwe United FC: Gibbo Stadium

9. Scottland FC vs GreenFuel FC: Wadzanayi Stadium

The battle for survival is officially on and as history has often shown, the drama at the bottom can be just as gripping as the glory at the top.
