Seventh Arrest Made in Mutangadura Murder Investigation
HARARE — Police have apprehended a seventh suspect in connection with the murder of Ruwa businessman Joseph Mutangadura, who was killed during a robbery in August this year.
According to the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP), the latest arrest involves Webster Nhau (51), who was taken into custody near his home on Dustan Road in Ruwa on November 2. Nhau is believed to have played a role in the violent robbery that occurred at Mutangadura’s Hideout Farm on August 17.
His arrest follows the detention of Tariro Mutsamanye (34) and Dexter Mugaro (31) last week, after detectives acted on new intelligence related to the case.
The investigation has also been marked by dramatic incidents, including the Sanyati shootout, where wanted suspect Vengesai Jabulani Mutasa (41) fatally shot a police officer before being captured.
Police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed that investigations remain active, and efforts are ongoing to track down any other individuals believed to be connected to the murder.
The 67-year-old businessman’s killing has triggered one of the most extensive police operations seen in recent months.
