Barcelona Midfielder Marc Casadó Suffers Late Injury Blow Ahead Of Celta Vigo Clash
Barcelona midfielder Marc Casadó was forced to withdraw from the starting lineup moments before kick-off in Sunday’s La Liga encounter against Celta Vigo due to a suspected adductor strain.
The 21 year old had been included in Hansi Flick’s initial starting XI for the match at Balaídos, but was replaced by Dani Olmo after reporting discomfort during the warm-up.
According to close sources, Casadó will undergo medical examinations in Barcelona on Monday to determine the extent of the injury.
His absence comes as a setback for the Catalan giants, who have been counting on the young midfielder’s energy and tactical discipline in Flick’s new look setup.
Despite Casadó’s late withdrawal, Barcelona appeared unfazed in Vigo, with Robert Lewandowski netting a hat trick and Lamine Yamal adding another as the defending champions took a commanding 4–2 lead.
Further updates on Casadó’s condition are expected following Monday’s medical assessment.
