ZIFA President Nqobile Magwizi has thrown his full weight behind the Warriors, visiting the national team’s training base in Saudi Arabia ahead of their high profile friendly clash against Algeria tomorrow.

The visit, his first to the team’s foreign camp since taking office, was marked by a strong message of encouragement and unity. Addressing players and the entire technical team, President Magwizi urged them to wear the national badge with pride and to give their all as they continue their journey toward next year’s AFCON finals in Morocco.

“As your Football Association, we will do everything within our power to make sure you are well prepared and fully supported,” said Magwizi. “Your duty is to focus on the game, to play your hearts out for Zimbabwe and carry our nation’s hopes with pride.”

The ZIFA boss also reassured the squad of the Association’s renewed commitment to improving player welfare, logistics, and preparations, emphasizing that the new administration is determined to restore trust and stability within Zimbabwean football.

Magwizi’s visit was well received by the players and coaching staff, who have been putting in long hours under head coach Marian Marinica as they fine tune their attacking play. The Warriors’ camp has been a hive of activity, with the upcoming friendly seen as a crucial test of their tactical readiness ahead of continental action.

Tomorrow’s clash against Algeria, one of Africa’s football heavyweights, will offer Zimbabwe a chance to measure their progress and build momentum ahead of AFCON 2025.

ZIFA also extended gratitude to supporters, sponsors, and partners who have continued to back the team through its rebuilding phase. “This is a new era for the Warriors, one of renewal, unity, and ambition,” the Association said in a statement.

With the President’s visit setting the tone, all eyes now turn to how the Warriors will respond on the pitch, not just to Algeria, but to the growing expectations of an entire nation eager for revival.
