The curtain is set to fall on the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League season, and all eyes are now on the 2025 Soccer Stars of the Year selection.

A panel of selectors is expected to convene next Tuesday to decide the eleven standout players who defined the campaign.

Reigning Soccer Star of the Year, Scottland FC forward Walter Musona, faces an uphill battle to retain his place on the calendar. In contrast, his teammate Kelvin Moyo has enjoyed an exceptional season, playing every minute and anchoring the Scottland defence with consistency — a strong case in his favour.

TelOne striker Washington Navaya, who leads the Golden Boot race with 17 goals, enters the contest as one of the top favourites for the main accolade.

Scottland’s Tymon Machope and MWOS forward Billy Veremu are also among the leading names tipped for recognition.

Simba Bhora midfielder Emmanuel Ziocha has been one of the season’s surprise packages, contributing three goals and 12 assists in 25 games. Although his form has dipped in recent weeks, his overall impact keeps him firmly in contention.

Other notable performers vying for a spot include Dynamos captain Emmanuel Jalai and FC Platinum’s Thandolwenkosi Ngwenya.

In the Goalkeeper of the Year race, Simba Bhora’s William “Achimwene” Thole is leading the pack with 15 clean sheets. Dynamos goalkeeper Prince Tafiremutsa also stands out, thanks to a string of spectacular saves that have been vital in his team’s fight for survival.

The winners will be revealed on Tuesday, marking the official announcement of the 2025 Soccer Stars of the Year and celebrating the league’s most outstanding talents.
