ZIFA Electoral Committee Confirms Completion of Ethics Vetting for Election Candidates
The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) Electoral Committee has announced that the integrity vetting process for all aspiring office bearers has been finalised, marking a key milestone in preparations for the upcoming ZIFA elections.
In a statement, the committee said the vetting exercise carried out by the ZIFA Ethics Committee was conducted strictly in line with the ZIFA Statutes and the ZIFA Electoral Code. Only candidates who had successfully met the administrative and financial requirements for nomination were subjected to the integrity checks.
According to the Electoral Committee, all objections raised during the vetting period were formally communicated to the affected candidates to allow them an opportunity to respond. Officials say this step was critical in upholding the principles of natural justice, fairness, and transparency throughout the process.
“The Ethics Committee has now issued its final determinations on the eligibility of all candidates,” the statement read, signalling the end of a rigorous scrutiny phase meant to safeguard the credibility of the electoral process.
The publication of the final list of eligible candidates is expected to pave the way for the next stages of the ZIFA electoral roadmap, as football stakeholders continue to monitor developments closely ahead of the executive elections.
