Maswanhise Brace Fires Motherwell to Victory
Zimbabwean forward Tawanda Maswanhise produced a standout performance on Saturday, scoring twice to guide Motherwell to a commanding 3–1 win over Kilmarnock in the Scottish Premiership.
Maswanhise opened the scoring in the 17th minute, finishing off a well worked move to hand Motherwell early control. The 21 year old, who has been in impressive form this season, doubled his tally just nine minutes later with a clinical strike in the 26th minute, leaving the Kilmarnock defence scrambling and firmly placing the hosts in charge of the contest.
The Warriors international continued to torment the visitors with his pace and sharp movement throughout the first half, setting the tone for a dominant Motherwell display. Kilmarnock attempted to claw their way back into the match after the break, but the home side maintained their composure and added a third before seeing out the result, with the visitors managing only a consolation effort.
Maswanhise’s brace takes him to seven goals in 12 league appearances and 11 in all competitions, underlining his growing importance at Motherwell and bolstering his reputation as one of the most exciting Zimbabwean talents currently playing in Europe.
