Zimbabwe U21 Women’s Hockey Team Jets Off to Chile for Junior World Cup
Zimbabwe’s Under-21 Women’s Hockey Team has left for Chile for the 2025 Junior World Cup, which runs from December 1 to 3.
The young side heads to the global tournament aiming to fly the national flag high and deliver a strong campaign on the world stage.
They have been placed in Pool B — popularly referred to as the Group of Champions, where they will face tough opposition from 2023 finalists Argentina, European giants Belgium, and Wales.
This year’s edition marks Zimbabwe’s sixth overall appearance at the Junior World Cup and their fourth qualification in a row.
Confidence within the camp is high after the team secured a commendable third-place finish at the Junior Africa Cup held in Namibia earlier this year.
Namibia and South Africa will join Zimbabwe as Africa’s representatives at the competition.
Meanwhile, reigning champions the Netherlands will be aiming to defend their crown.
