FC Platinum have paid tribute to long serving coach and former captain Daniel Vheremu, who leaves the club after an extraordinary 15 year association marked by loyalty, leadership and historic success.

Vheremu joined the Zvishavane based side in 2011 at a time when the club was still shaping its identity in the Premier Soccer League. He quickly established himself as one of the most reliable defenders of his era, admired for his game intelligence, discipline and calmness under pressure. His consistency and leadership qualities later earned him the captain’s armband, making him one of the most respected figures in the FC Platinum dressing room.

When his playing days came to an end, Vheremu chose not to part ways with the club. Instead, he transitioned into coaching, taking up the Assistant Coach role where he became an important link between the club’s past and future. His influence stretched beyond the field of play, as he helped instil FC Platinum’s renowned culture of professionalism, discipline and tactical maturity.

Working alongside the head coach, Vheremu was part of FC Platinum’s most successful period, playing a key role in the club’s dominance that delivered four Premier Soccer League titles and the Chibuku Super Cup. Club officials say his imprint can be traced throughout the team’s evolution, from player development to the side’s tactical structure.

In a statement, FC Platinum described Vheremu’s journey as a “story of loyalty, growth and selfless service,” adding that his contribution will remain integral to the club’s legacy at Mandava Stadium.

“Daniel has given everything to this institution. His leadership, humility and commitment helped shape FC Platinum into what it is today. He will forever be part of the Platinum family,” the club said.

Vheremu departs as one of the longest serving figures in the club’s history, with his influence deeply felt by both players and technical staff.

As he begins a new chapter, FC Platinum have extended their well wishes to the departing coach, emphasising that his legacy will continue to inspire generations to come.
