A high-level delegation from Zimbabwe, led by Hon Albert Mavhunga, Deputy Minister of Local Government and Public Works, paid a courtesy call on the Zimbabwean Ambassador to Zambia, H.E. Ambassador Charity Charamba, in Lusaka yesterday.
The visit was part of a broader benchmarking trip to Zambia’s Ministry of Water and Sanitation and Lusaka Water Utility, aimed at strengthening water management and sanitation services in Bulawayo.
The delegation, which included Councilor Edwin Ndlovu, Deputy Mayor of Bulawayo City, was warmly received by Ambassador Chidyausiku, who expressed his support for the City of Bulawayo’s efforts to improve water and sanitation services.
Hon Mavhunga briefed the Ambassador on the objectives of the visit, highlighting the need for Bulawayo to learn from Zambia’s experiences in water management and sanitation.
“We are here to learn from Zambia’s successes in water management and sanitation, with a view to improving service delivery in Bulawayo,” said Hon Mavhunga. “We appreciate the strong relations between Zimbabwe and Zambia, and we are confident that this visit will yield valuable insights that will benefit our people.”
Ambassador Charamba assured the delegation of his Embassy’s continued support for the City of Bulawayo’s initiatives, and pledged to facilitate partnerships and collaborations that benefit the people of Zimbabwe.
The visit underscores the strong ties between Zimbabwe and Zambia, and the commitment of both countries to regional cooperation and development.
