The Southern African Regional Police Chiefs Cooperation Organisation (SARPCCO) has celebrated the graduation of 32 senior police officers who successfully completed the University of Zimbabwe’s Diploma in Strategic Management. The ceremony was held on 5 December 2025 at the INTERPOL Regional Bureau in Harare.
The graduating officers were drawn from nine SADC member states—Angola, Botswana, Eswatini, Malawi, Namibia, South Africa, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe reflecting SARPCCO’s commitment to strengthening regional cooperation through advanced professional training.
Speaking at the event, officials underscored the importance of equipping law enforcement leaders with strategic management skills to effectively tackle emerging threats such as organised crime, cyber-crime, human trafficking and terrorism. They noted that regional collaboration and well-trained leadership remain critical pillars in ensuring collective peace and security in the SADC region.
The Diploma in Strategic Management, delivered in partnership with the University of Zimbabwe, aims to enhance decision-making, leadership effectiveness and operational planning among senior officers. It also promotes harmonised policing standards and fosters a shared understanding of cross-border law enforcement priorities.
SARPCCO commended the officers for their dedication and discipline throughout the programme and encouraged them to apply the knowledge gained to strengthen policing systems in their respective countries.
