President Mnangagwa Removes Chitando, Appoints Kambamura as Mines Minister

President Emmerson Mnangagwa has dismissed Winston Chitando from his position as Minister of Mines and Mining Development and appointed Honourable Polite Kambamura to take over the ministry.

The changes were announced today  by the Chief Secretary to the President and  Cabinet, Dr Martin Rushwaya.

According to a statement, Dr Rushwaya said President Mnangagwa had removed Chitando from Cabinet with immediate effect, using the powers given to him under Section 340(1f) and Section 108(1a) of the Constitution.

Honourable Kambamura, who had been the Deputy Minister of Mines and Mining Development, has now been promoted to full Minister under Section 104(1) of the Constitution.

Kambamura now becomes the new Minister of Mines and Mining Development.
