Hon. Cde D.K. Mnangagwa, Deputy Minister of Finance, Economic Development and Investment Promotion, outlined the country’s transition from the Transitional Stabilisation Programme (TSP) to the National Development Strategy 1 (NDS1), explaining how the shift has contributed to Zimbabwe’s economic growth.

NDS1 added significant value to the economy, contributing to a 5 percent increase in Gross Domestic Product (GDP), while stabilising key economic fundamentals.

“Major achievements under NDS1 and urged all stakeholders to put their best foot forward as the country transitions into National Development Strategy 2 (NDS2).

NDS2 is critical to achieving Vision 2030, which seeks to transform Zimbabwe into an empowered, prosperous, and upper-middle-income economy, with a per capita gross national income of over US$5,000 by 2030,” said Hon. Mnangagwa.

He noted that the strategy focuses strongly on strengthening governance, accelerating economic growth, developing infrastructure, and ensuring inclusive social development for all Zimbabweans.

He added that NDS2 will place greater emphasis on industrialisation and modernisation across the country, guided by the principle of leaving no one and no place behind.
