Marondera Youth Day Shatters Records As Apostolic Leaders Vow To Deliver Zimbabwe 4-ED
In what observers are calling a historic realignment of faith and politics, Madzibaba Moses and Madzibaba Owen led thousands of apostolic sect members in a record-breaking turnout at the National Youth Day celebrations, issuing an explicit call for congregants to join the ruling party and warning that Constitution Amendment Number 3 is essential for the country’s prophetic destiny.
The Vapostori and Vaziyoni 4 ED national leadership used the platform to officially transform their churches from purely spiritual sanctuaries into mobilisation hubs for ZANU PF, declaring that the Second Republic’s Vision 2030 is a divine project requiring political muscle.
Vapostori4ED National Chairperson Madzibaba Moses delivered a hard-hitting political message, throwing the church’s weight behind the ruling party’s legislative agenda.
“We are here to tell our congregants that Constitution Amendment Number 3 is not just a legal process; it is a spiritual necessity for the peace and continuity of this nation,” said Madzibaba Moses.
“We cannot claim to pray for our leaders while refusing to support the laws that protect them. Our members must register to vote, and they must vote for President Mnangagwa. The Bible says, ‘Honor the King,’ and we are doing exactly that,” he added.
Madzibaba Moses emphasized that political mobilization is now church policy, urging all apostolic sects to abandon the periphery of politics and become foot soldiers for the ruling party.
The mobilisation drive is heavily anchored on tangible benefits. Madzibaba Moses revealed that President Mnangagwa’s recent injection of a USD 200,000 revolving fund into the apostolic community is just the beginning of a new economic gospel designed to create a self-sufficient church that also serves as a political base.
“We are moving away from a gospel of just waiting for miracles. The president has empowered us, and we will use these resources to make sure every congregant has a project. We are going into farming; we are going into business. This is Vision 2030 in action,” Madzibaba Moses declared.
He outlined plans to roll out income-generating projects across all provinces, ensuring that apostolic members are not left behind in national development. “When the people are empowered, they will defend the government that empowered them. That is our mobilization strategy,” he said.
Alongside Madzibaba Owen, Madzibaba Moses is championing a transformation agenda that includes education and modern enterprise. This mirrors recent initiatives where ZANU-PF legislators have partnered with apostolic groups to build schools, ensuring that “no child is left behind” in line with Vision 2030.
“We are creating an empowered apostolic church. We want to see our children becoming doctors, engineers, and farmers. The old ways of rejecting development are over. We embrace the Second Republic, and we embrace development,” said Madzibaba Owen.
The Marondera event saw the largest youth turnout in the history of the National Youth Day celebrations, with thousands of white-garmented apostolic members marching in solidarity.
Vapostori4ED has previously been recognized for its “outstanding organization” role in mobilizing support for President Mnangagwa and ZANU PF, winning accolades at the Legacy Empowerment Awards. The group’s national spokesperson has consistently affirmed that “Vapostori and ZANU PF are one.”
Political analysts note that the apostolic church demographic, representing a significant portion of the electorate, is being systematically integrated into the ruling party’s grassroots machinery through a combination of developmental patronage and religious nationalism.
“We are building a Zimbabwe that prays and works. Under President Mnangagwa, the church has a seat at the table of development. We will mobilize every province, every district, and every cell to ensure that this vision is realized,” Gwasira concluded.
