President Mnangagwa-Signed Scottland FC Jersey Raises USD1 Million
A match jersey belonging to Scottland FC and autographed by President Emmerson Mnangagwa fetched a staggering USD1 million at the club’s kit unveiling ceremony held yesterday evening.
The bidding process drew significant interest, with competing offers of USD700,000 and U5D51,000 recorded before the final hammer price was reached.
The unveiling event also highlighted new financial backing for the club. Ecobank senior executive Mike Dengwani confirmed that Ecobank has committed USD1.5 million in sponsorship towards Scottland’s 2025 league campaign.
Meanwhile, club chairman Everson Chatambudza said the team is pursuing a broader commercial drive for the 2026 season involving partners such as Swan, Booties, Fossil, among others. He noted that full details of the proposed package will be announced once finalized.
The record jersey sale is expected to significantly strengthen Scottland’s finances and reflects growing corporate and high-profile interest in the club ahead of the upcoming season.
