The ZANU-PF Harare Provincial Coordinating Committee (PCC) convened a high-level strategic meeting at the party’s provincial headquarters on Sunday to deliberate on Constitutional Amendment Bill No. 3, as the proposed legislation enters its 90-day public consultation phase.

The meeting, chaired by Harare Provincial Chairman Godwills Masimirembwa, brought together party leadership in the capital, alongside virtual participation from representatives across the country’s ten provinces. The engagement sought to provide delegates with a detailed understanding of the proposed amendment while strengthening preparedness for the nationwide consultation process ahead of the Bill’s eventual presentation before Parliament.

Senior party and government officials attended the session, underscoring the significance attached to the constitutional reform process. Among those present were the Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution for Harare Metropolitan Province, Charles Tawengwa; the Minister of Justice, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs, Ziyambi Ziyambi; Politburo member Tendai Chirau; and National Political Commissar Munyaradzi Machacha.

Also in attendance were representatives from the party’s Elders Council, Central Committee members, and other senior provincial leaders. Their participation highlighted the party’s intention to facilitate structured internal dialogue on the objectives and implications of Constitutional Amendment No. 3.

The meeting forms part of ongoing efforts to ensure party structures are adequately informed and prepared to engage stakeholders during the consultation period, as discussions around the proposed constitutional changes continue at national level.
