Hunters and MWOS Share Spoils in PSL Season Opener
Newly promoted FC Hunters marked their debut in the 2026 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League with a goalless stalemate against MWOS FC at Rufaro Stadium on Friday afternoon.
The encounter represented a historic moment for Hunters, who secured promotion to the top flight after clinching the Eastern Region Division One championship last season.
Both teams created several opportunities throughout the match but failed to convert them into goals. MWOS came closest to breaking the deadlock late in the first half when Arthur Banda unleashed a powerful long-range effort that crashed against the upright in stoppage time.
Hunters also posed a threat before the break, crafting two clear chances, but MWOS goalkeeper Francis Tizayi produced crucial saves to keep his side level.
The 2026 PSL campaign continues on Saturday with four fixtures scheduled for 3pm kick-offs. Herentals College FC will host Chicken Inn at Rufaro Stadium, while Ngezi Platinum Stars clash with FC Platinum in a platinum derby at Baobab Stadium. Triangle United welcome ZPC Kariba at Gibbo Stadium, and TelOne will take on Dynamos at Ascot Stadium.
