Premier Soccer League Hikes Gate Charges for 2026 Season
The Premier Soccer League has announced revised minimum gate charges for matches in the 2026 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League season following a decision made during an Emergency Committee meeting held on March 5.
In a statement issued on Saturday, the league said the new pricing structure will see the rest of ground tickets set at US$5, while VIP or grandstand access will cost US$15. The VVIP section has been pegged at US$25.
The league said the adjustment was necessitated by the rising costs associated with staging top-flight matches, including matchday services, statutory levies and other tax obligations that clubs are required to meet when hosting fixtures.
According to the PSL, the move seeks to strike a balance between ensuring clubs can meet operational expenses while still maintaining reasonable access to matches for supporters.
“The PSL remains committed to striking a balance between ensuring that clubs are able to meet the operational costs associated with hosting matches while maintaining reasonable access for fans, who remain a vital part of the game,” the league said.
Meanwhile, the PSL also confirmed that the match between Herentals FC and Chicken Inn FC scheduled for Saturday will be played behind closed doors.
The fixture will be staged without spectators as Herentals FC continues to serve a disciplinary sanction imposed by the PSL Disciplinary Committee last year.
