Dynamos FC bounced back from their heavy defeat in the Castle Lager Challenge Cup with a spirited 2–1 victory over TelOne FC in their rescheduled Castle Lager Premier Soccer League Matchday One encounter played on Sunday morning.

The match, which had initially been scheduled for Saturday, was moved to Sunday and kicked off at 10am, giving coach Genesis Mangombe and his charges a chance to quickly redeem themselves following their 5–0 loss to Scottland FC in the Challenge Cup.

TelOne made a dream start to the match when Jerry Chipangura found the back of the net just two minutes into the game to give the hosts an early lead.

However, Dynamos responded strongly as Ghanaian forward Frank Agyemang levelled matters in the 18th minute, calming the visitors after the early scare.

The Harare giants continued to press forward and were rewarded in the 34th minute when J Kasondo struck to put Dynamos ahead before the halftime break.

Despite pressure from TelOne in the second half, Mangombe’s men remained resolute at the back and managed to protect their slender lead. Tension grew in the closing stages, with the clock ticking past 90 minutes, but Dynamos held on to secure the crucial victory.

The win marks an important turnaround for Dynamos after their humiliating defeat to Scottland in the preseason Challenge Cup, and it gives the Glamour Boys a positive start to their 2026 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League campaign.

The result hands Mangombe and his side three valuable points on the opening day as they look to rebuild confidence and momentum early in the season.
