Two Arrested Over String of Armed Robberies in Beatrice

The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has confirmed the arrest of two suspects in connection with a series of armed robbery incidents that recently occurred in Beatrice.
The suspects, identified as Conrad Moyo (22) and Milford Sidhakwa (24), were apprehended following investigations into robberies that took place on 5 and 6 March 2026 in the area.
According to police, officers in Beatrice received a report on 6 March 2026 regarding an armed robbery that had occurred the previous night at around 2200 hours at a local bar. During the incident, a security guard and a bar attendant were assaulted by the suspects before the attackers fled with two mobile phones, cash and alcoholic beverages.
Police responded quickly to the report and launched a motorised patrol along the Harare–Masvingo Road, which resulted in the arrest of the two suspects.
Upon their arrest, officers recovered several items believed to be linked to the robbery spree. These include 20 smartphones, USD 780 and ZiG 110 in cash, two torches, a bolt cutter, a machete, a necklace, an electric shocker and a satchel.
Investigations have since connected the suspects to seven armed robbery cases in the Beatrice area. Among the incidents is a robbery that took place at a motel in Beatrice on 6 March 2026 at around 0120 hours, where USD 371, alcoholic beverages and two cellphones were stolen.
In another case, which occurred shortly afterwards at about 0145 hours, a property in Rocklands was targeted. During that robbery, four cellphones and USD 609 in cash were stolen.
Meanwhile, police say they are still searching for a third suspect, Shadreck Shava, who is believed to be part of the robbery syndicate and remains at large.

Authorities have reiterated their commitment to maintaining law and order and encouraged communities to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities.
