Masvingo-based outfit FC Wangu Mazodze has secured its place in the 2026 Pacific Storm Eastern Region Soccer League after settling its affiliation fees earlier this week, sources have revealed.

The club, which enjoys strong support from its fans, had initially failed to meet the February 13 payment deadline and was therefore left out of the first set of fixtures released by the league.

Following the payment, Mazodze has now been cleared to participate in the competition and will begin their 2026 campaign with a Masvingo derby clash against 4 Lions FC.

The side will be hoping for a stronger season after a difficult 2025 campaign in which they finished ninth on the table.

Mazodze also endured heartbreak in the 2024 season when they surrendered a 12-point lead at the top of the standings, allowing Triangle FC to snatch the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League promotion.

Pacific Storm Eastern Region Soccer League administrator Fungai Munyoro-Chingaira previously stressed the importance of clubs meeting financial obligations on time, noting that prompt payments help maintain the league’s growth, stability and credibility.

Despite missing the initial deadline, Mazodze’s payment has now been accepted, paving the way for their participation this season.

Their entry into the league adds another layer of excitement, with fans already anticipating the Masvingo derby showdown against 4 Lions FC.
