ZimAIO Mall Set to Transform Online Shopping in Zimbabwe

A new online platform called ZimAIO Mall is being developed to improve the way businesses and customers trade online in Zimbabwe.

The founder and CEO, Mohamed Akram Ibrahim, said the idea came after noticing that many small businesses in Zimbabwe mainly sell their products through platforms such as WhatsApp and Facebook. Although many people use mobile money and the internet, there is still no well-organised online marketplace designed specifically for Zimbabwe.

Because of this, small businesses often struggle to find affordable ways to sell their products online, while customers sometimes feel uncertain about making payments in informal online transactions.

ZimAIO aims to solve this problem by creating a digital shopping platform where businesses, payment systems and delivery services are all connected in one place.

“Through the platform, small businesses will be able to open online stores, receive secure payments and manage their sales more easily. This will help even small traders sell their products professionally online,” said Ibrahim.

For customers, the platform will make online shopping easier and safer. People will be able to view products from different trusted vendors, pay using familiar payment methods and track their deliveries.

In the future, the founder hopes ZimAIO will grow into a major platform for digital trade in Zimbabwe. Plans include expanding to more cities, improving delivery systems and introducing new digital tools to support businesses.

“The main goal is to make it easier for any Zimbabwean business, big or small, to sell products online and grow in the digital economy,” he added.

The platform is expected to launch soon. For now, it is open to vendors who want to be among the first 100 businesses to register and list their products free of charge for three months.
