President Mnangagwa Appoints New POTRAZ Board

President Emmerson Mnangagwa has appointed a new eleven-member board to lead the Postal and Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe (POTRAZ), the body responsible for regulating the country’s postal and telecommunications sector.

The appointments were made in accordance with the provisions of the Postal and Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe Act.

Tatenda Mavetera, the Minister of Information Communication Technology, Postal and Courier Services, officially announced the new board during a press conference held at the ministry’s headquarters on Monday. She was joined by Deputy Minister Dingumuzi Phuti and the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Beulah Chirume.

Professor Sam Takavarasha Jnr has been named the chairperson of the board, while Ms Barbara Mukahanana will serve as the vice chairperson. Mr Prince Sibanda has been designated as the ministry’s technical representative.

The board also includes Ms Tofara Audrey Nyoni, Miss Michelle Madyira, Advocate Sebastian Masimba Guwuriro, Dr Siyakha Njabuliso Mthunzi, Dr Miriam Mugwati, Mr Caos Nzenze, Dr Maneta Linnys Dzauma and Dr Prince Mushaninga.

The newly constituted board is expected to guide the regulator through strategic leadership and governance as Zimbabwe advances efforts to modernise and expand its telecommunications and digital infrastructure.
