In a strategic move to strengthen the governance of the nation’s military oversight body, the Chairman of the Defence Forces Service Commission (DFSC), Vincent Hungwe, today presided over a high-level induction programme for newly appointed commissioners at the Kadoma Rainbow Hotel.

Dr Hungwe was accompanied by a senior delegation that included the Acting Secretary to the DFSC, Mr Nobert Machinjike, and the General Manager of Uniformed Services, Mr Abraham Magomo, who assisted in facilitating the integration of the new leadership.

The programme focused on orienting the six newly appointed commissioners Patricia Sarah Bwerinofa, Sheila Mahere Nyagumbo, Air Commodore (Rtd) Cleopas Murongazvombo, Colonel (Rtd) Okay Mabhena, Colonel (Rtd) Mavis Gonde, and Peddie Magoba on their official mandate and expected roles within the commission.

The induction was held as part of ongoing efforts to maintain high organisational efficiency and to prioritise the welfare of members of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces.

To ensure a comprehensive understanding of the civil service framework, the event was attended by key stakeholders from the Office of the President and Cabinet, the Public Service Commission, and the Ministry of Finance, Economic Development and Investment Promotion.

Their presence highlighted the collaborative approach required to effectively manage the administrative affairs of the uniformed services.
