Zimbabwe is strengthening its economic cooperation with Türkiye as part of efforts to drive industrial growth and achieve national development goals under Vision 2030.

Minister of Industry and Commerce, Nqobizitha Mangaliso Ndhlovu, recently met with Türkiye’s Ambassador to Zimbabwe, Berna Kasnaklı Versteden, during a courtesy call that reaffirmed the strong bilateral relationship between the two countries.

The meeting highlighted growing trade and investment cooperation, with both sides expressing commitment to expanding economic partnerships. Discussions centred on unlocking opportunities in key sectors focused on value addition and industrialisation.

Among the priority areas identified were lithium processing, cotton-to-clothing value chains, chrome smelting, and tyre manufacturing. These sectors are seen as critical in boosting Zimbabwe’s industrial base, creating jobs, and increasing export earnings.

Zimbabwe continues to position itself as an attractive destination for international investors through favourable policies and incentives. The government, through the Zimbabwe Investment and Development Agency (ZIDA), is promoting investment in Special Economic Zones designed to support industrial growth and ease of doing business.

The engagement reflects Zimbabwe’s broader strategy to build strong global partnerships that support economic transformation and sustainable development. Strengthened ties with Türkiye are expected to play a key role in advancing industrialisation and achieving Vision 2030 targets.
