President Emmerson Mnangagwa has called for unity, discipline, and increased productivity as the ruling party held its 130th Ordinary Session of the Central Committee.
Addressing party members, the President said the meeting provides an important opportunity to review plans and align priorities for the year ahead. He emphasised the need for the party to remain guided by its ideology, policies, and discipline.
“Implementing resolutions from the 22nd National People’s Conference and advancing the National Development Strategy 2 (NDS2) remain key priorities. Party members must focus on improving livelihoods at household and community levels through increased production across all sectors,” he said.
He also stressed the importance of unity and strong leadership, warning against division and complacency within party ranks.
According to the President, ZANU PF must continue to lead from the front in driving national development and maintaining stability.
“The party celebrated recent by-election victories; they reflect continued public confidence in ZANU PF’s leadership and policies. Party members remain committed to serving the people and improving their quality of life,” President Mnangagwa said.
On national development, he noted progress in infrastructure rehabilitation, agriculture, and value addition initiatives. He also acknowledged challenges posed by global economic pressures, including ongoing conflicts in the Middle East.
Looking ahead, the President announced that this year’s Independence celebrations will be held in Maphisa, Matabeleland South Province, as part of efforts to promote inclusivity and decentralisation of national events.
He encouraged citizens to participate in the celebrations and remain focused on building a prosperous Zimbabwe.
