Takudzwa Karowangoro
The Minister of State for National Security and ZANU PF Politburo Member, Lovemore Matuke, has called on churches to take an active role in national development.
He made the remarks while addressing hundreds of congregants at the Easter Conference of Bethlehem International Church, led by Edborn Gwatidzo.
“Religious institutions must support government programmes in different sectors of the economy.
Churches have an important role to play in community development and national progress,” Hon Matuke said.
He also urged congregants to back the Constitutional Amendment Number 3 Bill, saying it is key to helping Zimbabwe achieve its vision of becoming an upper-middle-income economy by 2030.
The Minister emphasized the importance of unity between government and the church in driving the country’s development agenda.
